The most anticipated night of the year, the Hype Invention Christmas party has become an event not to be missed, and this year was no exception. In the weeks leading up to the big day, we were all excitedly preparing for the festivities, from the chaotic yet cheerful Christmas decorations night to weekly advent games 
Let the Advent games begin!
Spread across 2 weeks, the advent games were a particularly special highlight during the holiday season, with different teams competing against each other in various fun challenges. Each week, a new game was revealed with the winners walking away with some tasty treats. 
It was a great way to get everyone into the holiday spirit and encourage a bit of friendly competition among the teams.
It’s *almost* time to party!
For the 7th consecutive year, the team at Hype spread the holiday cheer by throwing a memorable Christmas party on the 16th of December at the Hype offices.
On the day of the party, the office was buzzing with excitement as everyone was rushing to finalise their work and get into the holiday spirit. While waiting to party the night away, there was a sense of anticipation in the air as we all joined in on the hunt for the ‘Hype Elf’ that had yummy chocolate treats waiting for the lucky ones who uncovered his hiding place! 
Secret Santa gift exchange, festive games, and gifts galore!
And when the moment finally arrived, it was everything we had hoped for and more.
Kicking things off with the Secret Santa gift exchange, we all took turns trying to guess our Secret Santas—most of us failed miserably!
The Christmas games saw the competitive spirit of our fellow colleagues come alive. With prizes ranging from movie tickets and dinner vouchers to gift hampers and even an overnight stay at a leading hotel in Colombo.
Of course, no party is complete without food and drinks. The drinks flowed freely, with a wide selection of cocktails, mocktails, spirits, and wines, and a dinner spread that had something for everyone!
An electric atmosphere
From top-notch music—including an impromptu performance by some of Hype’s talented musicians—to busting moves on the dance floor, the night was truly something to remember as everyone celebrated the holiday season and the end of another successful year.

No year-end celebration is complete without recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of our team members in our own fun way.
In its first iteration, the Hype Awards—which we hope to continue every year—was an extraordinary moment where we all voted for the most deserving of our close-knit group to receive the honour.
Award categories included everything from “Team Player,” “Mission Impossible,” and “Busy Bee” to “Human Wikipedia,” “The Office Parent,” “The Always Late,” “Coffee Pot’s Best Friend,” “The Empty Fridge,” “The Honorary Mechanic,” and “The Empty Desk.” It was heartwarming to see our colleagues recognised for their hard work, irreplaceable attributes, as well as their mischief. 
The perfect ending to a successful year
The Hype Christmas party was a night to remember with some new additions that we’re already looking forward to continuing in the years to come.
As we reflect on the past year, it’s important to take a moment to appreciate the people that have made it special and the events that presented us with challenges and opportunities to achieve beyond what we thought possible.
The Hype Christmas party was a perfect opportunity to do just that, and I hope that everyone who attended had as much fun as I did, and wish everyone a joyous holiday season!
