What it feels like to go back to the office after 2 years of working remotely

I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become.” – Carl Jung

As a person who has worked for a few corporate organisations in different industries, including the logistics, finance, and pharmaceutical industries, digital marketing is something that I’ve never imagined myself doing.

But some things in life are meant to be, right?

“You’ll end up where you actually belong.” That’s exactly how I felt after a couple of days in the Hype Invention office.

The highs and lows of remote work

Before joining Hype, I was working from home for two years during the pandemic.

It started off all fun and games working remotely, but it’s also mentally frustrating for someone who has engaged with people on a daily basis for over a decade.

Some common feelings you may be experiencing, if you find yourself in my shoes, are: feeling isolated, lonely, or disconnected from other people – socially and professionally. You may feel like you’re unable to switch off from work and have difficulty staying motivated, which can lead to a heavy negative hit on your mental state.

If you’re someone who’s working remotely and struggling mentally, I encourage you to take your phone out and dial 1926 now. Do NOT take your mental health lightly.

I took my mental health seriously, and knew something had to change. And that’s when I came across a job opportunity at Hype.

After speaking with the management of Hype during the interview process, I decided to take up the Customer Care Executive role and wave goodbye to working from home.

How’s it going so far?

It actually feels great—physically and mentally—to be back working in an office space with some great people around.

The team welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home. The energy and the culture at Hype hit me differently.

This may be a completely new industry for me, and there’s so much to learn, but I’m HYPED for the adventure ahead of me with this young and hungry team.

While being trained on all the aspects of digital marketing, such as social media, content writing, ads, and email marketing during my first week, I’ve been listening to some great music played on a portable speaker on a work desk right next to me.

As someone who’s into music, I’ve made some good friends who share the same taste in music as me. As a gamer and a streamer, I’m yet to discover the interests that lie within this team—time will tell.

My takeaway for you

Hype Invention is growing steadily. If you’re reading this and looking for a great opportunity in the digital marketing industry, this could be the place for you.

As one of its newest members, I’d really like to invite you to join our team!

The #HYPE truly is real!
